The battery-portable, fast-responding, PPM2 hygrometer uses a fundamental principle and a diffusion barrier to measure trace water vapor in gases from 0.1 to 1250 ppmv. Recalibration is not required under normal usage. Applications include air separation and purified gases, medical and pharmaceutical gases, and semiconductor manufacturing. The PPM2 uses an electrolytic, phosphorus pentoxide sensor in combination with a protective, proprietary, semi-permeable diffusion membrane. The PPM2 is packaged in an impact-resistant, waterproof, IP65 plastic enclosure. A USB bi-directional serial interface is standard as is a 115/230 Vac battery charger.

Increased power and speed are the key attributes of the new HPX 45 extruder, achieved by full utilization of an 83kW motor through torque stability provided by the patented MAX³ feed system, and increased thrust capacity of the solid-shaft drive train. The extruder handles a full range of powder coatings and toners, and is aimed at the small- to medium-batch market. Producing 300-800 kg/hr of product, it is ideally suited for 100 kg to 1,500 kg batches. It also includes a hi-cool barrel, a split stuffing box, a pivoting main feeder, purge feeders, water-cooled main drive motors, hi-cool discharge adaptor, non-stick coating, a touch-screen HMI, and is Industry 4.0 ready.

Clariant has unveiled a new range of 100% bio-based surfactants and polyethylene glycols (PEGs) to help directly address climate change by helping remove fossil carbon from the value chain. Designed for natural formulations targeting a high Renewable Carbon Index (RCI), the new Vita products help manufacturers maximize the bio-based carbon content of consumer goods such as paints and industrial lubricants.

The Right Light™ is an optical filter for the Xenotest® 220+ lightfastness testing instrument. The UV cut-on wavelength of Right Light is much closer to the cut-on of natural solar radiation, and the total UV part is better matched to that of natural sunlight. The international weathering standard for plastics ISO 4892-2 and national ASTM G155 have been revised to include “Daylight Type I” spectrum definitions similar to the Right Light. The high spectral fidelity of Right Light supports increased correlation of results in weathering tests adopting this filter technology, including coatings (ISO 16474-2) and outdoor textiles (ISO 105-B10).

The line of CHROMA-CHEM® FLV colorants is based on a sustainable binder made from renewable sources that is reactive in epoxy coatings and improves coatings properties, including early hardness and chemical, corrosion, impact, and abrasion resistance. Machine dispensable, these colorants can be used at a tinting center or point-of-sale location using a manual or automatic dispenser. Formulated with a unique chemistry, they do not have the typical problems of epoxy-based colorants, such as yellowing and viscosity increase. The colorants also perform well in polyurethane and polyaspartic coatings. The FLV Series will provide the basis for a single-color system that can tint most concrete protective floor coatings.
