A new mobile-based application, PigmentViewer App is built on virtual renderings that capture the whole appearance potential of a pigment. With the app, the user can experience pigments in a realistic format that reveals even subtle sparkle. While the app is targeted at designers and product development engineers creating new coatings in the automotive industry, the virtual renderings can be adjusted to industry-specific needs. The app is available for mobile devices in the Google Play store and Apple App store.

The ROSS Double Planetary Mixer is widely used for high-precision mixing, granulation and vacuum drying, and rugged applications requiring enormous torque. Patented High-Viscosity “HV” Blades work in tandem to knead and mix from a vertical orientation, augmented by large shafts and generous bearing spreads, suitable for tough-to-mix formulations up to 6 million cP or higher. The robust design includes a heavy-duty fabricated gearbox engineered for extreme stability and smooth planetary movement of the stirrers as they orbit a common axis.

DISPERBYK-2018 and DISPERBYK-2019 provide high viscosity reduction with simultaneous Newtonian flow behavior, outstanding pigment stability and optical properties. Both additives can be used in various aqueous end uses such as inkjet inks, printing inks, architectural, general industrial, protective, automotive, floor, wood and furniture coatings, as well as in adhesives. They both ensure deflocculation of the pigments through electrosteric stabilization. Both additives are VOC-free and biocide-free, and are suitable for a wide range of modern aqueous systems. They also provide excellent storage stability.

ADINS^® additives are used synergistically with intumescent additives to improve fire-retardant properties. ADINS Fireproof products are based on a natural silicate activated with phosphate compounds. ADINS Clay G1 additives are based on modified silicate with low melting point glass. The clay series allows for a reduction in heat release even in a low dosage and acts like a smoke suppressor. These FR compounds reinforce the synergetic effect with the flame retardant systems due to the low-temperature glass they form after burning, enhancing the consistency of the 3D reinforcing network within the char.

An addition to the Arctic^® IR Reflective line of pigments, Chromium Oxide Green 30C659 incorporates the Dynamix^® technology, which removes the pigment grinding step in laboratory development, scale-up and full production. It is inorganic and doesn’t have any organic dispersion aids or resins that might compromise the performance of systems incorporating the pigment. Uses include coil coating, extrusion spray, automotive, industrial, architectural, powder and other coatings. Optimized for easy dispersion, the pigment offers a dark green color, high total solar reflectance, high opacity and heat stability, and is compatible with a range of water and solvent systems.

Enclosures are designed to isolate powder handling, sample weighing, high throughput screening, and other lab automated processes. Available in unitized or modular models, EnviroMax enclosures are offered in standard sizes or can be built to meet exact size and design specifications. Horizontal slide, vertical moving, or hinged sash access, and work surface, table/cabinets, electrical, plumbing and ventilation systems are options. Neptune™ now offers 35 additional models as part of the Phase II release of its NSP Series Solenoid Metering Pumps and NXP Series Stepper Motor-Driven Metering Pumps. They include more models with the acrylic degassing head (ACRYL) option, along with the standard polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene (PP) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) material options. New models feature the same capacity ranges from 0.09 gph (0.35 L/h) to 8.1 gph (30.66 L/h) and back pressure capabilities of 43 psi (3 bar) to 232 psi (16 bar).
