Paul N. Gardner Company (GARDCO) has introduced the Intelligent precision balance scale, designed for accurate weighing in laboratory and industrial settings. With a capacity of 3,200 grams and readability of 0.01 grams, the scale supports multiple weighing units, including grams, ounces and carats. The scale features hands-free infrared tare and calibration, adjustable zero tracking for evaporation monitoring, a piece counting program and a percentage program for formulation weighing. Additional capabilities include a bright backlit LCD display, a spill-resistant stainless-steel pan and a dedicated print button for efficient data recording.

Perstorp has introduced the Neptem™ range, a portfolio of emulsifiers designed to enhance the performance and sustainability of waterborne alkyd coatings. The range supports the transition to low-VOC formulations, reducing the carbon footprint of alkyd-based coatings while maintaining high-performance emulsification. Key features include enhanced compatibility with a wide range of alkyd resins, high-performance stability and technical support to facilitate adoption.

A new wide-format UV LED curing system has been introduced for high-speed wood coating applications, featuring a water-cooled design and a patented semiconductor light matrix (SLM) array for enhanced optical power and dose performance. The system supports 365 nm, 395 nm and 405 nm wavelengths, and integrates via PLC, ethernet, analog, modbus TCP/IP and other protocols. Additional features include adjustable output, instant on/off operation, optional window protection and a T-slot mounting design. The system enables faster throughput, reduced energy use and improved coating quality with no mercury or ozone emissions. It supports conveyor speeds up to 50 m/min while offering long LED life and consistent process control.

A new containment enclosure is designed to safely control airborne particulates and protect the surrounding environment during sampling operations. The unit features a downward flow of HEPA-filtered air that maintains clean conditions at drum or working height, while contaminated exhaust exits through HEPA filters positioned in the rear wall at floor level. This configuration helps minimize cross-contamination and ensures both the process and workspace remain protected. The system ships disassembled for easier installation in existing cleanroom or laboratory environments, and is suitable for applications requiring particulate containment and airflow management.

Hempel has introduced Hempafire Extreme 550, a solvent-free epoxy fire protection coating certified for up to four hours of resistance in cellulosic fires. Compatible with waterborne primers and topcoats, the system offers ultralow VOC emissions and up to 40% lower carbon dioxide output. With reduced dry film thickness requirements and high-build capacity, it accelerates application and minimizes coating layers. Designed for durability in C5 environments, it protects structural steel for more than 25 years. The coating enables lighter steel designs and delivers an architectural-grade finish across topcoat systems.

A new high-shear mixer from ROSS is designed for solid-liquid mixing, emulsification and fine dispersion under vacuum conditions. The system features a 2.5-inch rotor/stator head with a 10-gallon stainless steel Type 316 vessel rated to 29.5-inch Hg vacuum and 50 psig jacket pressure for heating or cooling. The dished-bottom vessel includes a flush tank ball valve for efficient discharge. A touchscreen control panel offers speed control, cycle timing and safety lockouts when the mixing head is raised or vessel is misaligned. Typical applications include adhesives, coatings, cosmetics and specialty chemicals. The HSM-100LH-3 model is mounted on casters for easy transport.
