After four long years, the international coatings community will gather once again in Nuremberg, Germany, for the European Coatings Show and Conference from March 27-30, 2023.

The Show

Whether their focus is on paints, printing inks, laboratory, production testing or measuring equipment, adhesives or construction chemicals, visitors can look forward to meeting with specialized suppliers from all around the world with an extensive range of products. The EC Show will open its doors at 9:00 am on March 28, and will run through 5:00 pm on March 30.

The European Coatings Show will occupy a total of eight exhibition halls, six of which will be dedicated to raw materials. Hall 4 will put the spotlight on laboratory and production technology, testing and measuring systems, application technology, environmental protection and occupational safety. Hall 4A combines exhibitors from all product segments.

More than 140 product presentations will be delivered on the Show floor in Halls 3, 3A and 5, where exhibitors will share their expertise on using their raw materials and laboratory, production, testing and measuring technology.

The Start-up Area in Hall 2 allows start-ups and young companies from around the world to present their companies and product innovations at reduced rates. Additional start-up presentations in the exhibitor forum in Hall 3 provide further insights into the sector’s start-up scene.

The Conference

With more than 140 presentations, the semi-parallel European Coatings Conference offers intensive knowledge and ground-breaking trends. Pre-Conference tutorials will take place on Sunday, March 26, with the EC Conference beginning the morning of March 27. The opening keynote will be by Wijnand Bruinsma from AkzoNobel on the topic: “The Role of Paints and Coatings in a Sustainable Future.”

Throughout the Conference, companies will discuss the latest technology for coatings formulations, as well as process and equipment technology. Other key topics will include the shortage of raw materials and rising raw material costs. One session is devoted to the results of an international research partnership funded by the EU. The Decoat Project is developing a solution to facilitate the use of textiles and plastic components with (multi-layer) coatings according to the closed loop recycling principle.
