What to Expect at the
2025 Western Coatings Show

The 37th Biennial Western Coatings Symposium and Show will take place October 19–22, 2025, at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Convention Center. The aim of this biennial conference is to provide educational and networking opportunities for technical individuals involved in the development and manufacture of coatings, their employers and related vendors in the coatings industry. The program includes a three-day technical program, a two-day tabletop exhibition, and multiple opportunities for socializing and networking.
Two keynote speakers will open the technical program. On Monday, October 20, Tracy Young, Senior Global R&D/TS&D Director at Dow Coating Materials and Performance Monomers, will present “The Innovation Journey of Sustainable Paints & Coatings.” On Tuesday, October 21, Nick Talken, CEO and Co-founder of Albert Invent, will deliver a keynote on “Enabling New Business Models with AI in R&D.”
Monday’s agenda also features a leadership panel, “Agility in Action: How Industry Leaders Succeed in Today’s Dynamic Coatings World.” Panelists include Shiona Stewart, Azelis U.S.; Pouyan Sardashti, BASF; Steve Waterman, Behr Paint Company; Ross Nordin, Cloverdale Paint; Tracy Young, Dow; and Brian Turk, Turk International. The session will be moderated by Chris Dugan, Dunn-Edwards Corporation.
The conference program includes more than 100 presentations covering additive technologies, resin advancements, pigments, UV-cure innovations, sustainability strategies, PFAS-free solutions, AI in coatings R&D and more.
The Sunday Night Welcome Reception at Drai’s Beachclub/Nightclub on the Cromwell Hotel rooftop remains a highlight, bringing together attendees with food, entertainment and networking. Additional receptions will take place Monday and Tuesday evenings in the exhibit hall, where over 100 tabletop exhibitors will showcase their latest technologies for coatings formulators and manufacturers.
